The answer is that when a poly headset it blinking purple (both blue and red at the same time), it has failed. You can try to drain the battery and recharge to reset, but the real answer is to replace the headset. It is generally on its way out the door. I have managed to reset with a discharge/recharge cycle in the past, but that is just a stop-gap solution in my opinion. As a side note, I am on my 4th poly headset. Mine are the upper model 5220. This last one failed in 3 1/2 months. The quality appears to be getting worse based on the fact that the failure intervals are getting shorter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. After 2 years it would be nice to have an answer. Alternating Red/Blue is one thing. Purple is purple. Mine started doing it today. I just realized mine is a V3200. Picture shows off and purple led. I'm guessing combination red+blue flashing at the same exact time. Even in off position. I played around and had it working all day and it happened again. Firmware updated a long time ago. Maybe I'll try to drain the battery. Plugging into laptop it's not recognized.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Purple means a firmware update... if you have the poly app you can update it and you should be fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s ready to pair with your device
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi! If your headset is flashing an alternative red and blue light, it means it is in pairing mode. The first time you purchase a headset, right out of the box if your power on the unit, it will enter automatically in pairing mode so you can pair the headset with your mobile. While the headset is flashing red and blue, access your phone Bluetooth settings and select "PLT_V3200".
