Does it notify you of text messages? null

Yes it also tells you the name of the person calling

If your phone is set to chime or ring when you have a text message, the sound will come through the earpiece.

yes it will notify you. It has audio which means it will speak. It will say the same thing as if you pick up the phone.

It does not notify of text messages outside of having the phone's notification volume above no sound.

I have a Galaxy phone and if I have my notifications for text messages turned on the sound comes through the headphone.

It will make a tone, but not provide the specifics of who is texting.

If your headset is turned on, and your phone supports sending an alert for text via bluetooth, it would play through the headset.
