A:Answer We are actually talking apples and oranges here. What you need to determine is the diameter or filter size of the lens. The 18-55 & the 70-300 mm refer to the focal length of these zoom lens, or how far in or out the lens can capture an image in focus. The filter size refers to the circumference of the barrel of the lens . The way to determine this is to look into the lens ( as if taking a selfie if it were on the camera ), there should be a number in mm engraved and/or painted telling you the filter size it takes . For example most of my lenses for my Nikon D3300 have filter sizes of 52mm , but for my Nikkor 50 mm f1.8G Standard lens which is shorter but wider, I needed a 58mm filter. Hope that helps!
