Yes, there is about 1/8”.

The case is elevated from the screen so the screen is not scraping a surface.

Yes, you can lay it down flat face down and the screen won’t touch.

Yes it does. It comes up a bit over the front so if you sat it face down, the screen would not be touching any surface.

There is a small raised edge on the front to help protect the screen if dropped but this is more for style than protection

Yes, it has raised edges. It offers plenty of protection. Definitely the most protective case amongst leather cases.
