The grip is nice. The edges are a grippy rubber-like material, while the back is wood. I like this combo because it allows my fingers to grip around the edges, but it's still easy enough to take in and out of my pocket. I don't like the silicone ones Apple makes because they are TOO grippy and it makes it hard to put away and take out.

Not slippery. Not tacky either. Slides in and out of picket easily, yet easy to hold in hand without fear of dropping.
