Yes….upgrade to the next gen is free….any ps4 game or actual copy itself will automatically upload the upgrade to be played in the ps5….it takes literally less than 5 mins…even less than 4 mins to upgrade and you ready to go
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yeah, there are a ton of PS4 titles that are free downloads (similar to PlayStation Plus’s monthly games). Only issue is space. You can use an extended hard drive, but the PS5 doesn’t allow you to run games from it (you have to transfer them “back” to the console first) and you can’t migrate the PS5 games at all. It’s a headache and I hope they release a software update for it soon. Tl;dr: Yes free games but good luck downloading them all.

If you purchase an eligible PS5 game digitally, you will also gain access to the PS4 digital version of the game. However, if you purchase an eligible PS5 game physically, you will not gain access to the PS4 digital version of the game." So it looks like the answer is Yes, but ONLY if you buy the digital version of the game. The physical PS4 game can be used in both the PS4 and PS5 (version with disc drive), but the physical PS5 game can only be used in the PS5 (version with disc drive). It's a little confusing, but nice of them to offer the upgrade to players.
