The flash drives come preformatted with the FAT32 file system which has a 4GB file size limit. For larger file transfers you can format the flash drive to exFAT.

Also the fire will have a folder associated with it that is not considered in the 12.7G file size possibly. IF you know what software on the device is irrelevant you can delete it and still use the device. Beware deleting the appropriate file will render you device useless
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It may be formatted as FAT or FAT32 which have a file size limit smaller than 4GB. Try reformatting the stick to a newer file system like NFTS for Windows or whatever file system Apple or Linux uses that supports larger file sizes.
