• If you have a Sata revision 3 slot on your motherboard, then yes this will replace your mechanical drive and will be considerably faster; however, replacing a 500 gb drive with 120 gb is a lot of lost storage space. Be sure you won't miss the extra 380 gb of space the old mechanical drive provided, or leave the mechanical drive in and add this SSD to your rig as a windows boot drive.

• Yes most hard drives are superior to Seagate, do you remember when China first started to flood the market with them they had hidden partitions?
