I installed this SSD in a customers' PS3 & after doing the restore from the previous HDD, it worked perfectly fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A SATAIII SSD on the SATA interface of the PS3 would not yield the speed you want due to the interface limitations. You can make it work but you would be adequately served with a with a spinner or hybrid drive (spinner first).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it can use a SATA drive, then yes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Playstation 3 will take any 2.5 inch sata drive but SSD might not be suitable in terms of capacity/price point of view but if cost is not critical. This SSD and bigger capacity ones should turbocharge PS3 performance in regards to storage
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes absolutely but if your going to purchase this drive do you self a favor and get the 480gb instead of the 240gb a 240gb is far to small to install in any Microsoft or Sony gaming system and will just cause frustration because of storage size trust me I know from experience buy at least the 480gb or spend the money and get the 960gb and never worry about maxing out your storage that's what I did to my Xbox one and it's amazing fast and almost completely removes the load time on games with large platforms.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it'd be a waste of money to use an ssd on the PS3 or PS4 as the Bus speed is the bottleneck. Buy a Hybrid drive for the best bang for your buck along with slightly faster load times
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but it's a moot point because the PS3's storage controller isn't fast enough to take advantage of it. You'll see a negligible boost at best. I'd recommend opting for a larger capacity drive instead.
