Q: QuestionWill this card work with a Dell XPS 8300?
Asked by Rust.
- A:Answer Its hard to know for sure but I would think so. This is your basic video output card, by no means a gaming capable gpu. The pcie on it is generations old, so probably comparable with most motherboards. Bestbuy should be able to help confirm your PC's compatibility. I would also consider not getting a Dell in the future if you ever get a new PC. Dell is known to be one of the scammiest manufacturesrs, pushing items that don't make logical sense when upgrading pc parts. Hope this helps! I'd consider a Dell laptop for work but their desktops are mostly garbage, in my experience.

Q: QuestionI am building a freenas server and i am looking for a graphics card to run it ill be using kodi ill be streaming my blurays from my server to kodi. All are in 1080p. Ill be using ethernet to stream is 2gb enough for me to stream my blu rays?
Asked by Wiztech.
- A:Answer Playback of a file should be fine. The downside to these cards is that they don't do much for accelerating encoding/decoding of video. They're too old to have support for newer codecs, etc. So if your software has to do any conversion of the format, it will need to do it on the CPU instead. As long as the CPU is reasonably OK, you shouldn't have a problem.

Q: QuestionWill this work with a lenovo h50?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I am not familiar with this brand or model however, in its pictorial on line spec details it does have expansion slots for installing a graphics card. I cannot find any online pictorial views of the motherboard to give an accurate answer to your question. when I bought this card for my Dell OptiPlex 955 tower, I consulted with a Geek Squad agent who verified that it was compatible with one graphics card slot on my motherboard. In the past, most computer manufactures were forthcoming with specific online information for do-it-yourselfers however, they are now more secretive or restrictive on providing that online information which drives me to consider building my own computer rather than buying any more proprietary band name computers.

Q: QuestionWill this card adapt to a HP Slim desktop 410-010 ?
Asked by Rich185.
- A:Answer I found out that my desktop would accommodate the GeForce GT 710 2GB PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card by first consulting with a Best Buy representative. I gave them the specific details of my motherboard. Having been told that it would work, I verified that I did have the slot available and that it would fit in my case. I have a Zalman case with three fans and cooling should be a consideration for the Graphics Card (300W) and CPU. My motherboard and Windows 10 will not let me take advantage of the full display resolution but enough to get good resolution (2560/1080) for a 34" monitor. I am able to get a lot of data on the screen that I could not see on a 27" which is a real plus in stock trading. Good luck, Rich.

Q: QuestionI have a 2012 gateway DX4870-UP20B desktop with an Acer ipimb-ar ver. 1-02 motherboard. 500w power supply, intel 2nd gen i5 2500k cpu with 16mb of ram. I've tried to update my graphics with several cards. Any idea which graphics cards would be compatible?
Asked by Frustrated.
- A:Answer I know this question is long since been done with. I still am going to answer anyway because hopefully anyone out there still looking for answers about this motherboard will stumble across this and maybe it will help them. Anyway, I have an old Gateway DX-4200 that has an Acer Ipimb-ar motherboard in it. I put the board into the case because I had parts laying around. This is just one of my many lesser gaming PCs that I built just to tinker with something. My main gaming PC is a lot newer and more powerful. I only build PC's. I don't go pre-built. Nothing wrong with that tho. Anyway, the Ipimb-ar motherboard is compatible with older AMD GPU's such as the Radeon HD 5870 1gb, the Radeon HD 7870 2gb and the Radeon HD 6950 and 6970 2gb. I currently have the Radeon HD 6950 2gb in it with an I5-2500k, 16 gb of ram and a PNY 1tb SSD. The Acer Ipimb-ar will also work with the very old, power hungry and scorching GTX 480. I have two of those cards that still work perfectly. The HD 6950 and I5 2500 combo still put up a decent fight to play games. As far as recent games all I know is that this setup would play Red Faction Remarstered (yes Re-mar-stered) on medium at around 50 fps at 1080p and Just Cause 3 at about the same. These are not new games but I wouldn't use this type of setup for current AAA games. Still a lot of fun can be had using it for Steam games. Less demanding Steam games. It runs Windows 10 very speedily. The HD 6959 doesn't support DX12 though so that is not too good. Still for anyone wanting to upgrade an old Ipimb-ar computer then this is all I know to help them.
