The PCI slot only provide up to 75 watts. If you look at the card specs it requires 125 watts. Which means you will need a 6 or 8 pin adapter. If your power supply does not have one, you will need to get a new power supply. I recommend getting the Cosair CX 650M - about $60.00

I then used the 8-pin power connector, and it still did not boot up. I disconnected the power cord from my Computer, and left it unplugged for about 10 seconds, plugged it back in and the computer booted up. Maybe that trick could have worked without the 8-pin power connector? I think it all depends on your power supply and how much your current components are pulling from your PCI bus. If you have enough extra power available on your PCI channel, then it should work. If you don't have enough power available, then you'll need to use the 8-Pin video power connector from your PSU. At least this card gives you that option.
