It will likely work fine, however - according to Dell's specification page for the Ryzen 5 Inspiron 3585, 2400mhz is the max supported memory speed of that laptop. This kit is 2666mhz. It *should* work fine. It will just run at 2400mhz instead of 2666, which isn't typically going to be a noticeable difference outside of benchmarking.
