“I have an HP 251-a123w and want to upgrade to 8GB RAM. From what I have read online it is possible to upgrade but I don't know exactly what type of RAM card I need. Please help”

I have the same computer I have a 8gig card in there it is ddr3l 14900

Please try again later.Sue, According to HP. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04798706 Your Memory Card is DDR3L SODIMM, PC3L-12800 (1600 MHz) When you use these as a filter on Best Buy it lead you to SKU 4680400 You can fit two of these for a Total 16GB. Save yourself from wishing for more and get two. I would open the case and snap a picture of the current card installed. Make sure it has the same size foot print. If not there should be a label on the card with a Part Number or a Model Number. Use that info to search for larger memory cards.
