QuestionWhy do the battery’s get hot?? You can feel the outside metal getting warm from battery’s is this normal.

QuestionI have seen this unit with a blue colored ring at the top, and a different handle layout. Is this the newer model represented in the online picture, or is the blue ringed unit a newer version being offered??

Questiona warning label on back of package say contains cancer causing material what is this a big concern or what?

- Answer It's probably nothing to worry about and here's why. Inside most flashlights and other electronic devices there are electrical connections for switches that are soldered in place. Circuit boards also have solder points and the solder usually contains lead. Since it's inside the flashlight and you won't make physical contact with it, you shouldn't ingest it in any way. The warning is there and legitimate because there may be elements that are detrimental to health but the chance of us coming into contact is highly unlikely and shouldn't happen with normal use.

QuestionDoes this have a memory setting, so it doesn't have to be cycled through all five 'modes' each time you want the same mode it was in when last turned off (eg. Medium)?

- Answer No. If you turn it off for a second or two (not sure exactly how long, but it's a very short time period), the flashlight will reset itself and come back on at full brightness when you turn it back on. You can change from one mode to the next in fractions of a second too, by just quickly clicking the on/off button.

- Answer According to the manufacturers description, they come with alkaline batteries that aren't rechargeable. You could use rechargeable batteries in it but they are usually 1.2 or 1.25 volts and alkaline batteries are 1.5 volts. Since you will be losing significant voltage, you will have less light output (lumens) but it should work fine.
