A:AnswerYes you will need an amplifier. The type of speakers in your tv require minimal wattage to just get them to move whereas these would hardly put any sound out & IF they did I would sound terrible and not be worth the investment.
Bite the bullet and invest in a descent surround system, you'll be glad you did!
