Is this headset capable of recording? null

You can use the mic to record audio for a live stream or on your PC, we have a few feeds online already that are using it. To get the best mic quality, please make sure the mic is completely pulled out from it's retracted position and increase the mic gain on your PC. if your using it on Twitch for Xbox One , just turn up the mic feed till you hear a beep tone that lets you know the chat vol is turned all the way up.

If the mic would work then yes if you had it connected to a recorder

The headset itself does not have a feature to record but can be used to record on a device that's capable. I typically use it for Xbox one but have used it for online classes.

You can record voice message to your console.

If coupled with recording software yes

not sure, with my limited time I didn't try to record. I would imagine if you were to twitch and record it would work.

I don't believe the headset determines that task. This is wired as any other headphones and/or MIC. The only exception is that the plug is XboxOne specific, so you couldn't really plug it into anything else. If you're having trouble w/ X1 recording your speech I would troubleshoot w/ Xbox.
