No. You need an amplified output to drive these speakers, such as a receiver or audio amplifier.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that is what I bought them for. I feel they need more bottom end(bass)but am going to try a center speaker to fill the void. Just my 2 cents.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These are passive and need external amplification. Most likely your tv won't have a builtin amp which can drive these.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These speakers do not have wires. So depending on your TV's speaker input type ( RCA ? ) you could simply buy wires with the appropriate end type and cut one end off ( make sure you do this prior to plugging them into anything) , strip a little of each wire and stick the bare wire into the ports on the back of each speaker. Don't be worried about compromising the sound by using a stripped piece of wire on one end as high end speakers all come with this type of connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Polk Audio 5-1/4 Bookshelf Speakers do not have an Amp built into them, they need an Stereo Receiver / Amp (with up to 85 watts of put put) to power them. Any speakers that you want to hook up straight to a TV needs a built in pre-amp (like a sound bar)
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I used the Polk speakers as part of my home theater system until I just got a ZVOX from Magnolia. No wires now except for an optical that connects to your TV and great surround sound with one device!!! Fits under my 46' less expensive than Bose and Better sound!!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These are excellent with tv. We love them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes, I did it via speakers to stereo receiver to TV works great sounds so much better than the TV speakers
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes they can. I have mine running through a stereo receiver from the tv via RCA wires. Best dam sound going. I would imagine there are other ways out there.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Home audio speakers are capable of such. If the only connection available through the speakers is through copper connector you will need an audio receiver to connect the speakers and the television through. If you cannot find one laying around your house, many people sell them at garage sales and they go for pretty cheap online.
