The maximum weight capacity for the floating desk is 100 pounds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The desk will hold 100lbs distributed over the desktop and the shelves. We rate the desktop portion for 60lbs, the top shelf for 20 and each side shelf for 5lbs. So, it depends on how much the child weighs and how much the items on the desk weigh. The child should definitely NOT SIT on the desk. It MUST be mounted into wooden wall studs. You could also secure the bottom of the desk to studs.
