There are stationary handles located on either side of the screen if you choose not to use your arms while working out. The exercising arms will continue to move while you use only your legs. Keep in mind that you will have to push/pull with your arms to get the wheel turning initially.

There are fixed pulse grips near the center console that you can hold on to while exercising so there is no upper body movement. This machine is versatile to allow you to have both upper and lower body workouts as well as just lower body workouts. We hope this helps!
