I think your answer depends on what he intends to use it for. This would be a fun drone for anyone, but the quality of the photos the built-in camera produces would probably be sub-par for a photographer. The camera shoots in 720p, HD according to the website. This is definitely better resolution than most other drones at this price point, but still not professional level. There are a few drones out there that come with mounts to attach a go-pro, or something similar. That may be a better option if he is looking to take quality aerial photographs. Otherwise, a drone with a professional grade built in camera could easily cost as much as a grand or more. Now, if he's just looking to have a good time and take some decent ariel photos/videos for fun, I think this would be fine. That's just my take.
