“It appears that the microphone is not blue tooth and must be plugged into the speaker to be used. Is this correct? I am looking for a bluetooth microphone so that our speakers can walk around.”

hi As the picture shows, this unit comes with wired microphone. however, you can buy a wireless microphone, model M-550 or M-500 from Amazon or BestBuy or other on line stores, and use instead of the original microphone. those models are working on UHF range and sound is very clear and free of many interrupting frequencies.
