No, it isn't the online version. Quickbooks got smart and caught on to what all the others are doing - like Microsoft, etc. and they charge you a one time fee for the product and then a subscription every month to be able to use it and get updates. Without the subscription, you could be using old data. It's a bummer, but it's a great product and they know it.
