- Answer The Rachio is a high end digital controller. I could not find a comparable product when I did my research. I would hands down purchase another if I were setting up a new irrigation system. Rachio 3 is currently the best on the market. You won't regret it.

- Answer It has a coin-shaaped battery which is accessible by opening the back panel by removing two philip screws and unsnapping the back panel out. This information should be mentioned in the user manual. Unbelievable that the CEO's get paid millions for such horrible job.

- Answer It does not come with a rain sensor. It uses closest commercial weather station data to the controller. In my case at the local airport. However, Rachio does make a ground saturation monitor. I don't know the part number or the cost, but it does go on sale every so often.

- Answer If its anything like Nest, Ecobee and other smart thermostats, you have to consent during set up to allow them to do this. I dont remember rachio having this feature.

- Answer I hooked up a hunter rain click and it works fine. Rachio has instructions on how to install sensors and which sensors are supported.
