You can setup up multiple schedules. Each schedule can contain different zone and different times. And more than one can be active. 
I don't know if there are any limitations - but It seems it would accommodate most reasonable setups
How many per station? I haven't found a limit. Each station can have its own start time, end time, day schedule (odd, even, every day every 2 days 3days
They can also be set up for specific days of the week and flexible adjustable setups

Yes, it’s fully customizable.

You have ability to start and stop as much as you want as long as you want as frequent as you want. You can’t even do a ten min soak cycle so they run for 10 soak and rerun again a second time for ten. 

You can choose only 1 station to program if you want.

You can set it up in any way possible. Although smart weather intuitive recommended setting is the way to go. Let it do it’s thing vs trying to act smarter then the computer.

Only 1 start time per day can be scheduled. You can manually start all stations and or just a few manually with your app on the phone or ipad, etc. anytime you want to water twice in 1 day. I love my Rachio.
