This laptop gets very hot when gaming and if they gotten rid of one M.2 slot they could of extended the battery life of this machine, for me was the oled display I do graphic design too that’s why I have a external display, to dissipate heat I have a cooling pad, and placed fujipoly extreme pads on hot areas like CPU VRM GPU GDDR5 RAM etc I also have it touching the aluminum back plate, I also added condoctunaut liquid metal on both cpu and gpu with conformal coating so it won’t mess up anything and so far it’s has run better when playing games I run doom eternal maxed out at 35c (flir cam )
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this a month ago. It does run hot. I bought a $30 cooling tray thing for it and it fixed it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have any experience with video editing but, from my experience, the laptop is fine when used for web browsing and video streaming for Netlix, Hulu, and the like. I have not played any FPS like CoD yet, but I just started playing Gears Tactics. Although it does get warm, it doesn't slow down the gaming experience. I prop mine on a stand so it gets properly ventilated but it wouldn't hurt to have a cooling pad, though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had other laptops that get hot (Asus GL702) cooling pads help stop CPU throttling when video editing and rendering. It is to your advantage to use an appropriate (see vent placement) pad to maintain the life of the product and the speeds you bought it for. Heat kills over time, keep it cool when you can.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For everyday use it's great. As for video editing it will get hot during 4k rendering and longer session. Compared to other laptops I've owned, The Razer Blade does well with thermals for everything other than gaming. Typing on it everyday, now that's another story.
