Once you go Razer, you never want to go back.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I was a bit worried about going from a 2018 Advance model to this one, mostly because of the battery. I have been using it for more than a week daily and I have to say that everything is holding up really well. I can get about 6-7 hours of light use (emails, documents and youtube videos) even with the screen set to 4K. I know that 60hz may be slow, but most of the games I play are more single player cinematic games, so the OLED is better for that. I was aiming to get a RTX 3060 laptop pat some point, but I could not pass on the price of this one, I am very glad I picked it up. If there is one thing I would like razer to do about this laptop is the battery size; with this model now using 2 M.2 slots, there is room to be able to extend the battery a bit more, with that making it the best option for people that want the budget option.

Good for gaming! Bad for artists/photographers.

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Color, DesignThis thing is BEAUTIFUL! But I ended up returning it because of one small issue. If it wasn't for this, I'd have LOVED to keep the laptop. But the screen broke me. OLEDS are marketed towards creators and artists because of their wide gamut. But they reproduce all those lovely colors with a very high rate of deviation. Unless you keep this monitor on one, single calibrated brightness level, the colors will shift as you adjust the brightness. If you do color sensitive work, this will probably bother you. I calibrated this monitor about 5 times before figuring out what was going on. I also don't know if it was specific to my unit, but part of the screen was brighter than the rest. With the bad out of the way, this is a really beautifully designed laptop! If you're gaming, you wouldn't notice the small color inaccuracies that a photographer or artist would, the blacks are deep, and colors punchy with this OLED panel. The build is top of the line, all glass and metal- you really feel like you have something special. I'm fans are quiet as laptop fans go in Photoshop and Zbrush. I am not a gamer so I don't know about it's gaming preformance. Protip: Undervolt it and you can get up to 7 hours of battery life, if the low battery life reported in reviews bothers you.

Perfect laptop for professionals.
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This was a good laptop, don't get me wrong. I was planning to keep it for a long time, but the problem I had with it was that it got way too hot. Also, the air intake at the bottom seemed like it didn't like to be anywhere except a cooling pad. I get all of that if I am playing a game or doing something heavy on the CPU or GPU but this was even when watching netflix or something.. I guess that was the hard part, trying to get use to that. I mostly just use my laptop for watching shows and surfing the web, but I really like to play games too. This laptop did amazing with the games. Even though people will say the graphic card isn't strong enough to run 4k, it is if you properly undervolt the cpu and gpu. Razer actually undervolts these by default, but it is good to undervolt it some more because the heat can damage it over long periods of time. Then again, they are made to withstand this, but still, I felt better keeping it cool, which is what I did. I hated to even get rid of this thing because of the excellent build quality. It felt just like a macbook pro but better because of the keyboard and the BRIGHT backlight. In the end, the g15 was just a better fit for me.

Great laptop with one little issue
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I bought this laptop a couple of weeks ago. So far is has been a great purchase. The screen is crisp and clear and I haven't had a problem playing any of my games. And as some may expect, the build quality is top notch. I have only 3 complaints, though one of them is probably more personal preference but I'm sure others agree. First, the screen, while amazing, does have a glare issue if your light source is at a certain angle. I play a lot in my semi truck and have to have my curtain closed if I'm playing up front. Second is that this sucker get HOT. Internally I haven't gone over 91c, but the body, particularly the keyboard and palm rests get to a point where I start considering trying to cook eggs on it. And third, maybe this just a personal gripe, but the keyboard just doesn't feel right. I miss having the number pad on the right and the arrow keys design just doesn't feel right. But over all a really great gaming laptop.

WOW...

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5...what a treat staring at this OLED display on my new Razer Blade laptop. Build quality is excellent and hopefully any future issues, if any, are handled properly by Razer! Thanks to Best Buy on an excellent sale which meant I just couldn’t pass it up! Because if anyone knows me knows I definitely don’t need another laptop...lol. But this is my second Razer Blade LT from BB. A 2018 advance model and I have had zero issues! Also upgraded to a second SSD and RAM is on the way. This really is a fun laptop and I don’t think you’ll regret it... and the mercury white is definitely different and nice! Thanks for reading my review!

Awesome build, but 4k on 15" not worth the premium
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Full disclosure - I bought this machine at a steep open-box discount, but I still returned it. I need a windows laptop for gaming almost exclusively, and the Max-Q part of the RTX 2070 wasn't giving me any real performance boost over my previous GTX 1070. Plus, the display is 60hz, which works for games with ray-tracing on but not for silky-smooth Doom Eternal. I opted for a cheaper, 17-inch computer with a full 2070 and a 300hz LCD display, and haven't looked back. Observations in the short time that I had it: OLED look awesome, but clearly, for me, if it is a choice of gaming at 60hz in OLED or 300hz at HD LCD, I prefer the latter. I didn't notice a difference in image quality between HD and 4K at 15 inches. The build quality is awesome! This thing is both a tank and a pleasure to hold. My replacement machine was a cheaper, plastic, 17-inch Dell, and I miss the build quality. My only beef with the build was the mushy keyboard. Internals are easily accessed as long as you have a small enough star or torx screwdriver. Thermals are hot! Not much you can do about thermals in gaming laptop these days (apparently 10th-gen Intel processors are not friendly to undervolting even if the BIOS permits it), but there's no way I will be gaming on a throttled GPU that is already crippled by Max-Q.

Disable Turboboost
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I was looking for a well-built laptop for media consumption. The aluminum chassis and 4K OLED did not disappoint. I did not buy the laptop for heavy workloads and I read many reviews of high-end laptop all pointing of the deficiencies of mobile Intel CPUs. So thermals and noise were my major concern. Unfortunately, having used the laptop for a week, I can confer with all reviews lamenting it for high temperature and noise. The CPU is the culprit as it boosts to 5 GHz. This boost is noticeable even in short browsing sessions, the fans will ramp-up quickly and the chassis will heat up over 80 C. This was disappointing but going into the BIOS and disabling Intel boost solved this issue. Now the CPU is maxed at 2.6 GHz and temperature hovers around 70 in stress test and fans are not spinning hard. I gave the laptop 5-star given the build quality and the price (I got an open open model). I would have paid twice for a recent AMD RTX30 laptop. I expected to have issues with the CPU and on one hand it is disappointing that it does not live to its promise but on the other hand I feel that boosting to 5 Ghz given the CPU thermal profile is a bad idea.

A Gaming Laptop not only meant for gaming.
|Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5Pretty solid laptop, not just for gaming. The screen is incredible, thanks to the OLED panel, keyboard is bright and configurable, build quality is solid and should hold up well over time. The SSD and RAM are easily swappable. Speakers are tinny sounding and battery life can be a struggle if you don't optimize it extremely well. There were some driver issues at first, but general troubleshooting fixed them for the most part. Unless battery life is extremely important, or you need good laptop speakers, I'd strongly recommend this laptop for gaming, as well for content creators and college students.

Q: Questiondoes the base model 4k OLED screen support hdr 400 like the advanced model and does the screen reach the same max brightness of 600 nits?
Asked by manny.
- A:Answer It is hdr 100 percent, all 15.6 oleds are identical they are made by Samsung. I cannot tell you numbers on the brightness, but I can tell you I was sitting in my bedroom with the lights off, reading a dark webpage, and it turned to white full screen and it flash banged me, I couldn't see and my eyes started watering because of the brightness. It gets brighter than my s 20 ultra cell phone.

Q: QuestionHas anyone faced issues with burn-in on this OLED panel? If yes, can you kindly let me know after how long did you notice it. Thanks
Asked by Gavin.
- A:Answer I've had it for three months now and have left it open on one page for hours at a time on multiple occasions (as well as doing tons of gaming). No burn in at all.

Q: QuestionWhile doing my research on this laptop, I've read a lot of reviews on how hot this laptop gets while gaming and need to use a cooling pad. Does it get really hot just for everyday use, photo and video editing?
Asked by Moose.
- A:Answer I don't have any experience with video editing but, from my experience, the laptop is fine when used for web browsing and video streaming for Netlix, Hulu, and the like. I have not played any FPS like CoD yet, but I just started playing Gears Tactics. Although it does get warm, it doesn't slow down the gaming experience. I prop mine on a stand so it gets properly ventilated but it wouldn't hurt to have a cooling pad, though.

Q: QuestionIf I buy these model and a ssd card does the team of Best Buy could help me install the ssd?
Asked by Angel.
- A:Answer This computer doesn't use a ssd it uses a M.2. I am sure geek squad would install a new one for you if you paid them. It is real simple tho to change a M.2 drive, almost as simple as say changing a SD card in a Samsung phone. You require nothing but a 8 dollar tool kit from a hardware store or Walmart, with tiny star heads. The M.2 looks like a large SD chip, u take the one screw out of the back, it will move up in the air about 2 inches, you just pull it out, and push the new one in, just as you pull out the old one note which way its facing. My guess is best buy would charge u 100 bucks to do that.

Q: QuestionOK. So does this laptop have the full 2070? Or is it the max q? Nowhere on the product page does it state that. Also, I want to add more storage without replacing the os, can I add a second ssd?
Asked by Anthony.
- A:Answer It is the Max-Q version of the 2070. And, yes, the base model has two SSD slots.
