“Is this a good computer to run architecture software (autodesk revit 2017), cadding software for robotics (solid works 2017) & programming for robotics (eclipse)? My son says it is, but sounds like no dedicated graphics card, so that makes nervous.”

Its an APU, which with it being an A12, means it has 4 cpu cores(quadcore) and 8 gpu cores. You wont find anything stronger at this price.

You need a lot more memory and dedicated video card in a higher range. If you need help finding the right laptop for that I recommend cqbits.com as they work with a lot of design firms and can help get you what is needed.
