yes, that's where I have mine. It works great in my rec room.

I can't say for sure, but unless you have any windows in your basement, it probably won't pick up very well

Doubtful. I live in a building with solid masonry walls (similar to a house foundation). I had to move the antenna to a window sill to get good reception.

No way. It barely works near big open windows
