Well, I'm not sure by your question how far you are from a major city, but in my case, I live in rural Virginia, about 40 miles from Washington DC, and am able to pick up all major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) except FOX wont come in. I also get about 25 other channels and they all come in well. I don't live in a "forest", but I am surrounded by a good amount of trees and rolling hills and it works for me.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it would, we have a lot of woods around us and it doesn't pick up so good.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending how far from a station you are but you should pick up something.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you live more than 30 miles from the transmission site, it is doubtful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on how close you live to the transmitting tower. The trees could be an issue in blocking the signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably not. This is an indoor antenna and trees can block the signal. I think it depends on how close the transmitters are for the stations you seek. You can find out on websites like antennaweb.org and antennapoint.com. I just bought the Clearsstream 2V which works great - if you mount that one outside it would probably work (also from Best Buy)
