On the back of the box containing the GE brand XWFE Refrigerator Water Filter it says "Made in USA with globally sourced components". This can be found in small print under the bar code number 0 84691 85161 5 at the bottom rear of filter box. So it sounds like it is assembled in USA with parts or materials that may have come from other locations outside the USA. Hope this helps.
