• I'm also HOH. The default ring is pretty loud and it carries for a couple of rooms. I just added a second one for the other side of the house. The volume and specific sound type are settable in the phone app. I don't think you can set it any other way. And you need to have their doorbell as well of course.

• Yes. There is a volume adjustment through the app. It can be set to be rather loud if in the same room
