• If your phone,with the app, is with you you don’t need this. If you’re like me, I set my phone down and go to the back of the house or into the garage and don’t know when someone comes to the door. It’s loud enough to hear throughout the house. It only makes sense to have one.

• Yes but you only need chime if you are not connecting the Ring Doorbell to the wiring in your home for doorbells.

• Yes, only if you have company staying for a while and you won't be home. Example: My mother stayed with me for over a week and when family came by to visit her while I was at work, she couldn't hear the ring door bell due to it's downloaded on my cell phone and tablet (which I had with me).
