yes, solar panel keeps battery charged up alternatively I bought AC to 5V USB wall adapters and USB to barrel connector (3.5 mm x 1.35mm) cables on amazon and they're doing a fine job keeping the batteries charged up.

Yes. If you go to their website and preorder their solar option, on your cart it will show this spotlight cam and then you'll have an option to buy the solar. So, basically you can plug this to the solar panel.
