Hello Dutchy, We provide you the option of video storage for the recorded events so that you may revisit these videos for 60 days (in the US). The optional Ring Protect Plan is only meant to store the video recordings to the cloud, but does not impact the functionality of your Spotlight Camera device. You should still be able to view live videos and answer motion notifications as they occur in real-time. Our Ring Protect Plans start at $3/month or $30/year per Ring device for the Basic Plan, and $10/month or $100/year for the Plus Plan.
