A:AnswerHi Mouli.
Good question! Yes, the Ring Spotlight Cam Wired Plug-In device can be installed on an eave or ceiling with the Ceiling Mount (sold separately). You can use the Ceiling Mount to install your Spotlight Cam Wired on any ceiling, eave, or overhang, so you can improve your motion detection and get the perfect viewing angle for your home security.
It's important when selecting a location to remember that Spotlight Cam is designed to be placed at an optimum height of nine feet with the motion detector parallel to the ground. This will put the motion sensor in a perfect position to detect human-sized objects at up to 30 feet.
We invite you to reach out to our Community if any additional information is needed regarding your question. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.
All the best,

A:AnswerYou absolutely can do that. I have 5 of those Ring cameras at my property but last time when my parents were on the trip with me I took 2 from my home and brought to their home, connected to their Wifi and voila I can monitor 2 separate properties.
A:AnswerThe great part of the camera is that it will record whoever may unplug or damage the camera. You can not get that close without being recorded.
A:AnswerWithout a strong, stable internet connection, your Ring spotlight cam can still function as far as power goes, but it will lose these critical smart features:
Push notifications to your smartphone
Access to live video feed
Configuring the device through the Ring app
Recording and storing footage to the cloud

A:AnswerThey tend to activate on a 180 degree in front of the camera (more than the camera image can see). In terms of distance away I would say it depends on how angeled up or down the camera is but several (10 or 15 feet) away. Be sure to consider the flood cam also for over a garage. It has much brighter light.
