The wired ones must be plugged in. But they do sell ones that run on batteries.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They make different models, one is battery or solar. The one I have is wired and used indoors. But it comes with an outdoor plug and extra cable if you want to use it outside.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No you dont there is an ethernet connection in the plug compartment of the cam but you have to purchase the right cam not a stick up wired cam it's the stick up battery cam I made the same mistake the wired cam is more money so that's a plus
