It should work with any WiFi extender, the Chime Extender mainly allows it to be further from your router. The regular Ring Chime lacks the external antennas so range isn’t great.

Since the Ring 2 will linkup to any standard WiFi router it should work with any WiFi extender. The Chime with Extender increases distance it can be from router mainly due to its external antenna.

You can use any Wi-Fi extender with the Ring 2. My daughter has a NetGear Wi-Fi extender connected to her Ring 2. The Ring 2 is compatible with a multitude of devices.

The Ring Doorbell will connect to any WiFi signal you have the login information for. Not only can you use any extender, I’ve also found that using the Ring extender actually worsens connectivity in certain situations. You’re better off avoiding the Ring extender, using your own WiFi extender, and then adding a regular Ring chime instead.
