“Hi. If my home faces the west and the door area gets direct sunlight with no covered porch, will this product hold up? Is it weatherproof? Will it work at all in the sense of recording or would sunlight be too bright? Thank you in advance!”

Hi Yaya05, We don't recommend placing your Ring doorbell where it can be caught by direct sunlight. That means you'll need to avoid placing the doorbell in a position where sunlight might confuse the sensor and ultimately result in false alerts. With that said, Ring products are weather resistant and will work in freezing temperatures and are resistant to rain. In general, Ring doorbells and Cam products with batteries are rated for operating temperatures between -5 to 120 degrees F. (-20 to 50 degrees C.).
