• Yes the ring doorbell 2 is water proof. I live a little over 4000 feet above sea level and I’ve had no problems

• I’d guess it’s weather resistant but don’t think it would survive on a submarine hatch. I highly recommend caulking around it. Especially if attaching to an uneven surface.
