It is easy to install. There are official and unofficial videos on YouTube that help. It uses WiFi The Ring Doorbell 2 can be hardwired OR not—it has a rechargeable battery that lasts 6 months to a year depending on how you use it. You install with screws. Ring supplies all you need even the drill bit. I downloaded the app on my iPhone and iPad. I don’t own a Mac.

I purchased the Ring 2 and it’s WIFI ready, no hardwiring necessary. The download of the App for the iPhone was quick and easy, very simple setup.

Please try again later.* YES Sparky, it is so easy to install I did it myself you just have to follow the instruction or just watch some videos in you tube, but, believe me, not necessary. * YES it is WI-Fi just need to make sure that you have a good signal from where ever you are installing the RING. * YES It is also Hardwired, that will help you with the battery life. * YES you just install it with the screws that comes with it... and 2 set of plates that will help you with the angle of the RING. (no adhesive tape). * YES you can use your I-phone to download the app ... I own a Samsung and downloaded the app from my app store and works wonderfully. Works with apple,Android and Microsoft.
