• No, these doorbells are battery operated. I actually have an older one I use on my patio to check on my plants while I'm away. It can be mounted almost anywhere (unless you are using the doorbell's wiring for power).

• No, you either use it in the same spot due to the 2 wire for pre-existing doorbell. Or have wires relocated to where you want them. Or use the battery feature with the solar back to keep it charge and mount it on the door. There is also a peephole version that is also battery operated. Note that if you go with battery option you will need the Ring Chime to hear it doorbell through the house or hear it on your cell or Alexa.
