Hi rodolfoisa, When motion is detection or your doorbell is pressed, you will receive a notification on your phone. If you'd like to get Ring notifications anywhere in your home, you'll want to install a chime. Bilan J, Customer Satisfaction Specialist [email protected]

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I think the chime works as a wifi extender and is a solution if your ring has poor wifi connection. If you turn off your cel phone, don’t have an amazon echo, or set your phone to silent mode frequently you might consider adding the chime. So long as you’re one of the 99% of humans who have their cellphone on and within 20’ of them, you’ll hear it ringing on your phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can connect to your original doorbell wires which would not require a chime. That's how I'm running.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You dont have to buy a chime. As long as you have the app on your phone you will get the notification when someone rings it.
