Depending upon traffic in front of the doorbell (causing it to trigger more or less often) and the power delivered by the old power supply, this might keep the battery fully charged (mine does) or it might only slow down the rate of battery discharge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I replaced a Ring Pro that had failed and wired it to the same original Door bell wires. If you are just replacing a standard door bell, it does work off the wires for most common transformers (8-24volt) and the RIng 2 has a rechargeable battery in it and after installation it will charge full in a couple days or so if you wire it the standard door bell. If you hard wire it to the standard door bell, you do not need to buy the extra Ring Chime either.
