Q: Questionif i install the ring 2 doorbell in an area where hard wiring is not an option can i get one of the ring solar panels to keep it charged, does the ring 2 have a port to hook up the solar panel to.

• A:Answer You have to buy the solar housing specifically for the doorbell. The camera solar panels won't work with the doorbell. From some reviews, the solar housing really doesn't do a great job keeping the batteries charged. I ended up purchasing an extra battery so I could just swap them out as needed.

• A:Answer Well I don’t know if this helps but can pretty much mount it wherever u want too on your door or even facing sideways on the wall to your door as I did mine and I live in apt building so it actually looks down the hall to the elevator and I can see who gets off the elevator to my floor now which is even better than just facing it on my door
