It can go basically anywhere you want. You obviously want the most prime view for optimal protection. It does not need to go right where your doorbell is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had a similar issue, the storm door was mounted on the surface I needed to install to wood. My solution was to encase the wires in electric shrink tubing and run them 1" to the unit I mounted to the brick. Not at all noticeable, I did not shrink the tube as it lays nice and flat on the surface of the brick. If you purchase the ring chime pro, you can mount without attaching to the wires, however, you will need to occasionally charge the unit unless you purchase the solar charger as well.
