The Ring Video Doorbell Pro can be powered by your existing home doorbell transformer if greater than 16 volts. Or you can purchase an AC power adapter (as I did) to install and power your doorbell. The power adapter has a 20 foot cord attached to reach a nearby interior power outlet. I led the power cord down to an installed power outlet on my unfinished basement level. You may need to hire an electrician or handyman if do not have the technical ability to do this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. This requires power (ie, not battery operated.) RE: needing to rewire your existing doorbell - you may want to get someone to locate the 16/24V doorbell transformer. Mine was attached to my furnace in plain sight and that's an easy fix if it needs to be replaced. A volt meter would tell you a lot and could save you from having to rewire everything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If there’s no elictricity/power going to your existing doorbell, then the ring “pro” won’t work because it’s electric with no battery, and it hooks up to the same wiring that’s connected to your current doorbell. If electricity/power is not an option based on your situation, then you’d be better off with the standard ring that’s battery-powered.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pro must be wired. Older Ring doorbells, like Ring 2, are battery operated.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This particular Ring model needs to be connected to existing, working wiring. However, the Ring Video Doorbell and Ring Video Doorbell 2 can be used with a rechargeable battery, so those models may be of better use for you.
