Does it have a battery that needs to be charged?? null

Yes, it has a battery. It keeps a good charge. The battery goes down slow and it can be 2 or so weeks before you see the battery life change. It says on the app that of you are constantly watching the live view, yoir battery life can decrease faster. We have 2 phones connected to our Ring and we are good with the battery.

Not if you hook it to the door bell it charges it
