Yes, your phone settings can alert you differently than others monitoring the same device.

Yes, each phone can be set with its own notifications, alert sounds, and distance to which movement is picked up.

Yes... at least you should be able to. I'm using a log in for my Dad's doorbell in Florida while I'm in CA. I don't need to know about every movement detection so I've disabled that on my phone. His phone still shows every notification.
