There are angled mounts you can buy fairly expensively. That way it will still point toward the way people will walk up to the door.

It sounds like you would benefit from installing a Ring Corner or Wedge Kit behind a Ring doorbell device. Also, we do offer Plug-in Adaptors as well, so no hard-wiring would need to take place if you chose to place it on the opposite side of the door for a better field of view.
