  • QuestionIs there a monthly fee? Or subscription fee? Does it record the videos and can the videos be saved to my phone or computer?

    Asked by Mc.

    • Answer Hello Mc, Hello, The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is designed to be something you can rely on to alert you for motions and doorbell dings without a paid subscription. Without an optional recording plan, you will still receive real time motion and ring alerts, as well as have access to the Ring Live View feature. With the optional Ring Protect Plans, you have the ability to review, save and share your video recordings for as little as $3 per month. Here is a helpful article that provides more details regarding this service: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030333671-How-to-Subscribe-to-the-Ring-Protect-Plan. Your Ring videos are stored in the cloud for up to 60 days (in the US). Here is another helpful article detailing how to save and share your videos with friends and family: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001834066-Sharing-and-Downloading-Your-Ring-Videos. • QuestionIs there an estimated available date for this Pre Order?

    Asked by B00803.

    • Answer This is a lie. Ring only ships it out to the stores it said first and then other retailers will get it later so it can be weeks or months until bestbuy carries it. I even contacted ring and bestbuy about this. Really misleading.

  • QuestionMy existing door bell is mounted on the left side of the door, thus does not face forward. What are my options as I do not want a battery that will go dead.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer There are angled mounts you can buy fairly expensively. That way it will still point toward the way people will walk up to the door.

    • Answer This one does not come with mounting wedges, but can be ordered seperately if the view does not cover what you want, although it is a very good coverage because of the convex lens.

  • QuestionWhat output on the transformer is required?

    Asked by Bill.

    • Answer Hello Bill, Thank you for asking this question, as it is one of the most vital questions to inquire on when installing a Ring Doorbell Wired to existing doorbell wires. The Doorbell Wired must be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz for continuous charging. You can find this, and other useful information regarding the Ring Doorbell Wired on our Help Center here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055740151-Video-Doorbell-Wired-Information I would love to ensure all of your questions and concerns are answered properly, and invite you to reach out to us directly. https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036196372-Get-in-Touch Thank you, Caitlin with Ring

  • QuestionWhat do you do with the existing doorbell chime located on the wall in your house? Does that box have to be removed? Can I use a wired video doorbell with chime?

    Asked by Mari.

    • Answer I left the chime box up on the wall. The wired Ring doorbell came with a plug in chime. I bought 2 chimes so we can hear the notifications upstairs and down. The only drawback is i needed to install a voltage converter (transformer) to hook up to the wiring.. They are about $23 on amazon.

  • QuestionHi..just wondering if you can use 1 chime box to 2 doorbells...or do you need a separate chime box for each one

    Asked by TJ.

    • Answer Hi TJ. Thanks for asking! Yes, you can set up multiple Ring devices with a single Ring Chime. When plugged into a standard wall socket, the Ring Chime produces an audio signal whenever you receive an alert from a Ring device for motion and doorbell announcements. • QuestionWhere I live at, we're NOT allowed to drill into the bricks on our Apt and the area I want to mount it to be perfect, so I was wondering would THIS RING Doorbell Camera work wirelessly and is it rechargeable?

    Asked by DJEric.

    • Answer Hi DJEric. Good question. No, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired must be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 10–24 VAC, 40 VA max, and 50–60 Hz for continuous charging. While your Ring Video Doorbell Wired will still send Ring and Motion alerts to your mobile device, in order to hear an audible chime with Ring Video Doorbell Wired, you'll need to add a Ring Chime or Ring Chime Pro to your setup. • QuestionDoes this unit have a battery pack?

    Asked by Herbie.

    • Answer No, it requires a hard wire. If you have an existing doorbell wired from a chime in your home, it should wire up to that fairly easy using the old doorbells power source. The Ring App walks you thru the process step by step. Installed ours a few weeks ago with little issue.

  • QuestionI have an old doorbell that has no wires so how would I hook up the Ring doorbell.?

    Asked by Linda.

    • Answer Hello Linda, The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a hardwired only doorbell, therefore, it does not have the option to power it via a battery. The Ring Doorbell Wired must be hardwired to a transformer with 10-24 VAC, 20-40VA max, and 50/60Hz. This doorbell can also be powered by the Ring Plug-in Adapter.
